4 Ongoing Activities in Jersey City!

As your Jersey City real estate agent, I like to fill you in on upcoming events and activities in the Jersey City area. Once you buy a Jersey City home, you should get involved in the community and feel at home here. Luckily, there is always something go on, so meeting others and having fun in Jersey City is not a problem!

A couple weeks ago, I wrote a blog post about special fall events coming up that happen once a year. Today, I’d like to share four ongoing events and activities with you that you can catch each week. From fresh product to art, movies and fitness, there is something for everyone!

1.  Jersey City’s weekly farmers’ market takes place in Historic Downtown Jersey City twice a week. While most markets around the country are finishing up this month or next, our market goes all the way through December! Mondays and Thursdays each week, from 4 to 8 p.m., stop by Grove Street Path Plaza for a collection of local produce. This time of year, expect lots of pumpkins, apples and squash, along with the rest of tomatoes, peppers, beets, carrots, hardy greens and more. Jersey City home sellers , you can pick up some fresh fall flowers to spruce up your front entryway!

2.  Creative Grove Artist Market takes place every Friday from 3 to 9 p.m. in Grove Street Path Plaza! If you’re looking to buy art for your new Jersey City home, this is the place to go. Vendor art ranges from accessories, antiques, candles, books and clothing, to airbrush art, textiles, conceptual art, crochet and so much more. Live performers are there to dance, sing and do whatever they feel portrays art. This market is to promote art and culture, but it’s also a community space for dialogue and exchange. Stop by to browse art, experiment with art and meet other art lovers.

3.  Do you enjoy going to the movie theater but do you miss watching old flicks? Head to the Landmark Loew’s Jersey Theatre for your favorite action moves back on the big screen! This Friday, Sept. 27, enjoy The Blues Brothers at 8 p.m. Then Saturday, enjoy Duel at 6:30 p.m. and Bullitt at 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and kids, and combo discounts are available for more than one film.

4.  Get involved with Jersey City recreation! There is something for every age group here in Jersey City. If being surrounded with so much art and culture has you in an artsy mood, check out the free art classes for adults on Mondays. If you’re a senior who likes to have fun, check out the free line dancing classes for seniors on Wednesdays. Swimming lessons take place every day of the week. Then there’s indoor tennis, fall soccer, indoor cricket, a track club and so much more. Check out the calendar to choose an activity that interests you! It’s a great way to meet people after moving to Jersey City
